Shaped aperture: top left – Step One - Place the photograph onto the front of the backing paper and gently draw around it.
Shaped aperture: top left – Step Two - Look at the design on your backing paper and use it to dictate the aperture shape. However keep inside the photographs size.
Shaped aperture: top left – Step Three - Draw the aperture then cut.
Shaped aperture: top left – Step Four - Gently rub out the pencil marks.
Shaped aperture: top left – Step Five - Stick the photograph to the reverse of the backing paper.
Shaped aperture: bottom right - Step One - Place the photograph onto the front of the backing paper and gently draw around it.
Shaped aperture: bottom right - Step Two - Decide which parts of the design can be used to create flaps that hold the picture in place.
Shaped aperture: bottom right - Step Three - Once the flaps are cut gently rub out the pencil marks then slip photograph under flaps which hold in place.
Note - This technique is ideal for those very special photographs you do not wish to cut or stick down.
