Toppers can be expensive however they do add that little extra to pay layouts. So why not have a go at making some yourself. Creating your own toppers not only gives you the opportunity to use up all those little pieces of card, paper etc up but it also allows you to create toppers that a larger than those you can by. Great for filling those 12 x 12 pages!!!
Instructions
Topper One - Place three jewels onto a strip of ribbon. Cut ribbon longer than required. Cut a piece of card required length then wrap the ends of ribbon around back of card and secure, then layer as desired.
Topper Two - Cut a small piece of card and punch three hearts (or whatever design you wish). Mount on a piece of glitter card, then onto a piece of slightly larger mulberry paper. To complete cut out a piece of fun foam using craft scissors and mount.
Topper Three - Write the word love and draw some small hearts onto the decorative tag. Cut a piece of craft foam large enough for the decorative tag to sit on. Near the top of the craft foam punch a small hole in the middle and thread the tag through it using a little glitter thread. Mount on a slightly larger piece of heart motif paper then finally onto some silver card.
Topper Four - Mount your chosen charm onto a small piece of craft foam then mount onto a piece of card, which has been given added interest by being ribbled. Cut a piece of fun foam allowing extra space for the ribbon embellishment. To create a simple bow punch two small holes in the fun foam close to one another then thread the ribbon through these holes then tie into a bow.
Topper Five - Tear a piece of mulberry paper large enough for your chosen sticker plus a little extra for the threading of the ribbon. Stick the mulberry paper to the backing card then punch sets of holes all the way around the outer edge. Thread up the ribbon and ‘sew’ around the outside edge fixing the ends of the ribbon onto the reverse. Mount this onto a larger piece of card using double sided sticky pads. To complete your topper place the sticker centrally.
Topper Six - Place three peel ‘n’ stick stickers in a row then cut out card to desired size.
Cut a second piece of card slightly larger. Wrap some ribbon down one edge and along the top, fixing securely on the back. Cut a piece of fun foam slightly larger again and mount layers.
Topper Seven - Push the prongs of the studs through the fun foam and fix into place by pushing the prongs over to the centre. Cut the foam using a pair of decorative craft scissors. Mount onto a piece of metallic card using double sided sticky pads. Tear a piece of mulberry paper larger that layer two and mount. To complete your topper, mount onto a piece of felt.
Topper Eight - Tear a piece of mulberry paper large enough for your chosen motif. Mount onto a slightly bigger piece of card. To complete cut a piece of fun foam and mount motif onto this using double sided sticky pads.
