There are a couple of great ways to add extra interest to your candles. So read on and find out how easy they are to use
Instructions
Transfers - Candle transfers come in a large variety of themes and are easy to apply. Simply cut out around the design leaving a good border, soak in water until they come free from their backing then slide onto your candle.
Dye - Wax dyes come in a variety of forms ranging from discs, to powders, to sticks, to liquds. The dye used in candle making is very concentrated and only small amount should be used. Often the manufacturers will advice on the packaging how much wax weight the quantity of dye you are buying will colour. Also many of these dyes can be mixed to create a vast rainbow of colours.
Scent - A variety of methods to add scent can be used and include the use of specially formulated fragrance oils. They are highly concentrated and only a small amount per candle will be required. This oil can be added to the liquid wax prior to pouring into the mould. When adding try to keep the wax as cool as possible (around 70ºc/23f). This should ensure the scent you are adding does not evaporate. Remember to check that your mould will not be damaged if scent is used; warnings are often given on the moulds base, if they are unsuitable for use with scent.
Applique sheets - These are sheets of wax that come in a large variety of colours. They are easy to cut and shape then hand heat will adhere them to the surface of your candle.
