Shopping List
1 x red straw
2 x yellow straw
Straw splitter
Fine pair of scissors
Embroidery thread/floss
medium sized placement ring
Instructions
step one - Split all the straw using the straw splitter and cut in half.
step two - Begin to place the yellow straw around the placement ring skipping two spaces.
step three - Continue to work around the placement ring until each space has two straws in it.
step four - Take the red straw and place across the placement ring from one side to the other.
step five - When all spaces have three straws in them put the centre section into place, to hold the straws in place.
step six - Securely fasten each set of three straws using the thread/floss.
step seven - Cut the end of each red straw quite short ending in a neat point.
step eight - Begin to create one long point by cutting the yellow straws, you may need to pull out slightly so straws cross over slighlty before cutting. Ensure you do not pull to far and pull out from other side. Trim two yellow straws in line with point.
step nine - Trim the left over yellow straws to create four small points. Carefully remove centre of placement ring then star from ring to complete.
Tricks of the Trade
Straw craft - securing straws When securing straws always wrap thread around each set tightly and to make easier place the end of the thread in a needle to help wrap thread around straws.
