Project Shopping List

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 cup of icing sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 100 grams (4 oz) unsalted butter
  • Strawberry or redcurrant jam/jelly
  • Pumpkin cookie cutter
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Cup
  • PAstry brush
  • Fine sieve
  • Spoon
  • Rolling pin
  • Rolling board
  • A little spare flower
  • Baking tray

    As you bite into these little delights the 'blood' will just oozes out!!!
    Instructions

    		 step one - Sift the flour and the sugar into the bowl.

    		 step two - Seperate the two egg yolks. Cut the butter into small squares and add the butter and salt to the flour mixture.

    		 step three - Work with your finger tips and form into bread crumbs.

    		 step four - Add the egg yolks and mix into the flour mixture and form into a ball. Place in the fridge for half an hour.

    		 step five - Roll thinly out onto the board.

    		 step six - Press the pumpkin cookie cutter into the pastry, making an even number.

    		 step seven - Place half of the shapes onto the baking tray and place a little dob of jam/jelly in the middle of each.

    		 step eight - Take the egg white and brush around the outside of each shape.

    		 step nine - Take another shape and place over each shape with jam/jelly on, pressing down with your finger tip around all edges.

    		 step ten - Create some features with the point of your knife and bake in a hot oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
