Don't waste those little red hearts use them to make a complimentary bees wax candle for our Roll with it - version one.
Step one - Place the white sheet of bees wax on the work surface and warm with the hair dryer. Then along one edge place the pre-dipped wick (see tricks of the trade) cutting so it is around 2.5cm (1") longer than the wax sheet.
Step two - Using your finger tips fold over the edge of the wax sheet to hold the wick in place.
Step three - Now roll the candle tightly ensuring both ends stay flat.
Step four - When you reach the ends use the tip of your thumb to press the end flat, so the candle does not unroll.
Step five - Use a little of the wax glue to stick the red hearts randomly over the candle, pressing the edges down firmly using the tips of your thumb.
Tricks of the Trade
Candle making - dipping wick When making rolled or floating candles it is easier to used a pre-dipped wick. Simple cut a lenght of wick and place in the molten wax whilst in the pan. Watch as the bubbles escape from the wick, once no more bubble escape remove the wick. Hold over the pan to allow wax to drip off then place to one side ready for use.
