| Dress up you festive table with these tree-mendous napkins and napkin rings. They are easy to make and surprisingly quick too, just what you need during this busy festive season. |
Instructions |

Step One - Cut your linen into squares allowing 33cm x 33cm (13” x 13”) per napkin.
Step Two - Neaten the edges with your sewing machine using either a zig-zag or scallop stitch then tie off end of threads.
Step Three - In one corner attached a piece of waste canvas measuring 5cm (2”) square with tacking stitches.
Step Four - Following our design carefully stitch the tree in the corner of napkin.
Step Five - Attach seed bead at top of tree.
Step Six - Remove tacking stitches then dampen canvas to remove starch. Using tweezers carefully remove the threads of the waste canvas one thread at a time.
Step Seven - To make a napkin ring to complement napkin, cut a piece of aida band 12cm (5”) then find the mid point.
Step Eight - Following the same cross stitch chart sew a small Christmas tree and attach a seed bead at the top.
Step Nine - With right sides together (so good side of cross stitch is on inside) sew the two ends of the aida band together using a close zigzag machine stitch.

Tricks of the Trade
Cross Stitch – Waste Canvas If you are unable to purchase waste or paper canvas then use remnant left over from your last cross stitch project
Cross Stitch – Removal of Waste Canvas To aid easy removal of the waste or paper canvas ensure you go through holes and do not catch any threads during stitching.
